    Description

    Double Edged Confederate Side Knife
    Circa 1861-1865. This Confederate bowie or side knife measures 10" long with a hand forged double edged blade that shows many file and forging marks in its finishing and measures 1-3/4"?wide at the base. The S-guard and ferrule are of sheet iron and the large-pored wood handle (perhaps hickory) is attached with a single iron pin. 14-1/2" overall. The leather sheath shows great age.
