DescriptionNorthern Plains Dag Knife with Beaded Sheath, c. 1850. The forged 6-1/4" blade is slightly beveled towards both edges and is anchored to the 5" carved walrus ivory handle by two brass pins in steel grommets which is then repeated at the base of the grip. The 12" tanned hide sheath is artfully decorated with colored glass beads. Both are in excellent condition showing only minimal wear with age and handling.
