Custom William Henry Folding Pocket Knife Presented to Playwright David Mamet by Joe Mantegna. Having a 3-inch damascus blade with maker's mark. Mastodon ivory scale grips with gold engraved inlays. Release button and blade knob with faux gold gems. Lanyard ring with twisted leather tassel and silver ends. Contained in custom wood box addressed to DAVID MAMET on the lid. DVD about the knife and outer cardboard box.
Condition: Excellent. Display box has very light wear, noticeable dent wear lid and bottom leather meet. Front panel of cardboard box is peeling back.

David Mamet's Notes: This knife was presented to me by Joe Mantegna when I was one of two presenters (the other was Marine Corp. Lieut. General Willie Williams) to Joe of his Star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. I showed up and made a speech about how Joe called and asked me to help him get a star on the Walk. And then I took out a crowbar and said, "I guess I misunderstood." I further opined that the mistake was understandable, as he came from Cicero, Illinois. And I did think it odd, that he wanted my help getting a Star during the day.

We had a wonderful time in New York during the October 2013 Historical Manuscripts auction that featured my mother’s papers collected during her tenure as Martin Luther King, Jr.’s secretary. In fact, the entire experience from beginning to end has been a pleasure.
