    Civil War Collins/Shuyler, Hartley & Graham Staff and Field Officers' Sword. 31 ¾-inch slightly curved single-edge blade etched with a spread-wing eagle surrounded by floral scroll on the obverse; and "US" surround by floral scroll on the reverse side of the blade. The reverse ricasso is maker-stamped "COLLINS & CO. / HARTFORD / CONN. / 1862" and immediately above etched "SCHUYLER / HARTLEY & / GRAHAM / NEW YORK". Brass, half-basket guard with pierced floral design and "US". Leather-covered grip with brass wire wrap. Metal scabbard with brass throat, mounts and drag. Scabbard was either sold without the leather covering or the leather is simply worn off.

    Condition: Very good. Blade is generally bright with some spotting or light surface rust at the tip and at the ricasso. Small areas of the leather covering on the grip missing. Wire wrap a bit loose. Tarnishing to the brass hilt. Scabbard dent free and with a smooth gray patina to the steel and a brown patina to the brass pieces.
