    Boxed French Naval Dirk. 8 1/2-inch double edged blade with tapered profile and of diamond section. Gold-etched floral motifs on blued finish. Cast and gilt rectangular guard with geometric border. Cast and gilt relief ferrules. Ebony grip. Contained in associated black hardwood box with gutta percha ornamentation. Interior lined with paper print and green velveteen material. Condition: Fine. Retaining approximately 30-40% blued finish, the balance a dark gray patina. Patches of fine pitting observed near tip. Rough sharpening marks near ricasso. Gilt strong throughout. Slightly faded at pommel cap. Box fine inside and out. Light age wear.
