American Revolutionary War Officer's Short Sword/Hanger. 31 1/4" overall with 26 1/2" flat, unfullered, hand forged blade, 1 1/2" wide at the base. Still retains the original coarse weave wool washer. Hilt of classic American form. Rounded brass knuckle bow that splits at the base, with diamond shaped section at the base of the blade, and four radiating 'spokes'. Pointed, slightly turned down quillon. Spiral carved American black walnut grip which expands slight toward the pommel. One minor age hairline with no loss, with very nice patina and shows no signs it was ever wrapped. Flat cap sheet brass pommel with slight extension opposite the knucklebow and brass ferrule at the base. All brass with nice untouched patina. The blade smooth and gray with absolutely no rust, pitting or nicks. Classic example of an American officer's short saber from the period of the American Revolution, in wonderful untouched condition.

The pre and post sales experience was wonderful and flawless. Heritage has the best in-house operation I have ever seen and their people are not only professional but fun to work with, especially Steve C.

As for Heritage's online system… Yes the interface is more complex than what we are used to with SAN but what is behind that interface is amazing for sellers and buyers alike. It is real time and for a real serious auction buyer there is nothing better in the auction industry, bar none.
