    A Good Japanese Matchlock Tanegashima of Sakai Type with Finely Inlaid Barrel.

    Unserialized, approximately .45 caliber, a 36 1/2-inch barrel with pronounced onion muzzle. Breech extensively inlaid with copper and brass vegetal designs. Breech band with characteristic Sakai helmet. Underside of stock with long brass inlay. Figured stock.
    An above average example.

    Condition: Barrel patinated overall. Panel on stock slightly damaged. One panel missing from underside of stock. No major splits on stock. Fence is missing. Action good. Bore okay.
