    Description

19th Century Spanish Sword - "Draw me not without reason; sheathe me not without honor." 32½" straight fullered blade. The right side of the blade is etched "No me embaines sin honor" and the left side "No me saques sin rason". The blade is generally in very good condition with a few nicks to the edge and uniform age spotting. The polished brass hilt is unadorned. The grip retains its brass wire wrap and the majority of the leather grip is present. No scabbard. On balance, a very good example.

We had a wonderful time in New York during the October 2013 Historical Manuscripts auction that featured my mother’s papers collected during her tenure as Martin Luther King, Jr.’s secretary. In fact, the entire experience from beginning to end has been a pleasure.
