    Tan cloth covers with gilt lettering and color pictorial label on cover. Spine shows moderate wear, with heavy bumping and rubbing to ends. Boards are worn at edges and corners. Former owner's inscription on front flyleaf. Textblock is fine, with occasional foxing. Rear cover is bowed and hinge is slightly loose. The best known and most popular novel by the author who, as much as any other, created the uniquely American genre of the Western. Basis for four film versions, two in the silent era, one in 1931 and one in 1941.
