Tielke (1731-1787) German artillary officier and author of works on military affairs. "Addressing the senior engineer officers attached to the headquarters of an army in the field, Tielke dealt in detail with the whole variety of services to be expected of them, from laying out encampments to preparing topographical plans of likely fields of battle."     It was translated in English as "The field engineer;or, Instructions upon every branch of field fortification: demonstrated by examples which occurred in the Seven years war between the Prussians, the Austrians, and the Russians; with plans and explanatory notes." in 1789.
