    Thucydidis [Thucydides]. de bello Peloponnesiaco libri octo. [Geneva]: Henricus Stephanus [Henri Estienne], 1564. First Estienne edition. The first printed version of Thucydides to have text in Greek and Latin (here in two separate sections). Translated into Latin by Lorenzo Valla and Henri Estienne. Folio. Approximately 13.75 x 8.25 inches. [xiv], [299], [1, blank], 1-216, [8, Index] pages. Title-page with woodcut and printed in black and red. Bound in near contemporary full brown calf, boards paneled in blind, with blind floral cornerpieces, with new burgundy gilt morocco lettering label on spine. Binding repaired and restored with color correction, a few leaves with restoration at corners, one small neat hole of worm-damage to margin of entire text (with corresponding worm damage to boards) with very little loss of text, text dampstained, toned and somewhat foxed, a few contemporary neat ink notes, page 240/241 in the Greek section with a short tear at the top margin, light staining to title-page.
