    Folio (approximately 14.75 x 9 inches). [46], 54 (sic), 885, [1, blank], [2], [44] pages. With inserted engraved title-page (printed in red and black) and eight double-page plates of maps and battle scenes. Lacking the portrait.

    Contemporary calf. Rebacked to style in nineteenth-century calf, original burgundy gilt morocco lettering label. Some rubbing and wear to boards, hinges starting, lower corner of text dampstained for the first forty pages, chips in corners of pages 446 and 819 (not affecting text), marginal tears on pages 265 and 293 (not affecting text), small marginal holes on pages 251 and 619 (not affecting text). A few pages lightly ink-stained. Overall, very good.
