    Bound in the following order: volume I: half-title, Antiquités Mexicaines Première Partie Notes et Documents Divers (eighty-eight pages of text of this section), Examen des Planches des la Première Expédition du Capitaine Dupaix (pages [25] to 40), general half-title, title-page, engraved frontispiece, half-title to this volume, text (pages [3] to 20), four contents pages. Volume II: half-title to this volume, text (pages [3] to 56), general half-title, title-page, Introduction (pages [5] to 24), four contents pages, Examen des Planches des la Deuxième Expédition du Capitaine Dupaix (pages [37] to 67], blank page. Volume III: half-title to this volume, text (pages [3] to 40), Examen des Planches des la Troisième Expédition du Capitaine Dupaix (pages [69] to 82), half-title for the Deuxième Partie, title-page, blank page. Volume IV: Introduction (pages [5] to 12), text (pages [13] to 224). The first three volumes have folding cases in the rear housing 146 (out of 166) loose facsimile full-color plates, as well as six loose facsimile text pages and eight original loose text leaves (which are soiled and torn). With one double-page plate on two separate sheets (counted as one plate). The lithographed map, which is usually missing, is also missing here. Second voyage plates lacking plates 43 and 57, but have duplicates of plates 40 and 41. Minor rubbing to binding, text lightly dampstained at lower third, plates have similar dampstaining, some plates more toned than others, one plate with a long tear and tape repair. A good set of this important work. "[A]n almost indispensable supplement to Humboldt's Voyage en Amerique, as it contains many interesting discoveries not in the latter work" (Sabin).
