    Eight octavo volumes. Bound in dark navy blue morocco with gilt rules and seal of "The Law Scoiety of the United Kingdom on each front board, five slightly raised spine bands with gilt stamped titles and decorations, gilt board edges and inner dentelles, all edges gilt, marbled endpapers. First volume's front pastedown has a large prize award label from "The Incorporated Law Society of the United Kingdom" filled out in ink to: "Alfd. Bassett Starbuck Welch" and dated "April 1887". Each volume with the small binder's label of "J. Low" on pastedowns. Grammar school library ink stamps on versos of front free endpapers.


    Bindings rubbed, scuffed and lightly soiled. Few with minor surface leather loss. No half-titles in Volumes II, III, V and VI. Title page of Volume VI tipped in. Volume VIII over-opened at title page. Edge wear with few minor paper losses in margins. Some foxing, heavier towards front and back of books, few smudges and minor stains. Overall very good.
