    First edition. Octavo (7.75 x 4.9375 inches; 197 x 122 mm.). [22], xvi, 458, [1, errata], [1, blank] pages. Typographic head-pieces, decorative woodcut tail-pieces.

    Contemporary panelled calf, neatly rebacked to style and with corners renewed. Spine with four raised bands and red morocco label ruled and lettered in gilt. Edges sprinkled red (now darkened). Hinges repaired. Title strengthened in the gutter with tissue. Early ink inscription on front flyleaf. Small leather book label with initials "O H S" on rear pastedown. Faint pencil annotation on the rear free endpaper. Somewhat browned and foxed, some occasional mostly marginal dampstaining heaviest at the end. A good, sound copy.
