Gregorius Turonensis. [Gregory of Tours]. Historiæ Francorum libri decem. In quibus non solum Francorum res gestæ, sed etiam Martyrum cum infidelibus bella & Ecclesiæ cum hereticus concertationes exponuntur.... [bound with:] Adonis Viennensis [Ado of Vienna]. Breviarium Chronicorum ab origine mundi as sua usque tempora. Paris: Guillaume Morel, Gulillaume Guillard, et Almaricum Warancore, 1561. First editions. Octavo. Two works in one volume. [30], 639, [32]; 247, [34] pages. Printer's device on both title pages, decorated woodcut initials. Contemporary calf, worn, decorated crest to front and back board covers, spine damaged, leather losses to covers and spine (cords exposed); front free endpaper cut (lacking upper right corner); even numbered pages of Breviarium Chronicorum have a vertical a line down the outer margin, not affecting text; occasional holograph annotations, foxing, browning, and soiling. Text block has small upper margins and may have been trimmed. Very good candidate for rebinding. From the Franklin V. Spellman collection of books published by French printer Charlotte Guillard and her associates.
