    Francis Grose. The Antiquities of England and Wales. London: Printed for S. Hooper, [circa 1781]-1787. Early edition. Eight octavo volumes. Contemporary brown calf, covers with gilt-rolled borders, central gilt rule framing a large panel of tree calf, elaborately gilt spines with red and green gilt lettered labels. Marbled endpapers. Boards rubbed, a few joints starting or over-opened. Text block edges darkened and slightly cockled, bookplates on front pastedowns, edges somewhat dampstained though mostly marginal with exception of volume III. Volume I with frontispiece restored. Volume VII with front joint cracked. A very good set. From the library of Sylvester Stallone.
