Nouvelle Édition (new edition). Twelve folio volumes bound in six (16.5 x 10.5 inches; 420 x 270 mm.). All volumes with title-pages, nearly all volumes have half-titles (volume VII is lacking its half-title). Various paginations. With 279 (out of 280) inserted plates (lacking the final plate of volume XI). Including fifty folding plates. Contemporary black quarter morocco over marbled boards, spines lettered in gilt, six raised bands. All volumes rebacked, preserving the original spines, corners reinforced with black paper. Rear board of the forth volume detached; bindings worn, a few joints cracking, hinges all reinforced, some wear, soiling in text, first few leaves of each volume with perforated library stamps, old catalogue description affixed to front pastedown of the first volume. Still, good.
