Attractive Scottish Edition of "Wealth of Nations"

Adam Smith. An Inquiry Into the Nature and Causes of the Wealth of Nations. A New Edition. Glasgow: At the University Press, Printed by and for J. & J. Scrymgeour, and for Mundell & Son, and Arch. Constable & Co., Edinburgh, 1805. Early Scottish edition. Three octavo volumes. Contemporary mottled calf, black morocco lettering labels. Spines slightly darkened, general wear to the bindings with blemishes and abrading around the edges, with some slight loss. Second volume lacking title, small piece excised from top fore-edge corner of preliminary leaf in each volume, with previous owner's signature in each volume. Very slight foxing and light soiling, else a very good, attractive set with sheets clean and supple. A lovely set of Smith's monumental work on market economics that greatly influenced (and continues to influence) scores of economists, governments, and political theorists since its first publication in 1776.
