Two engraved frontispieces, sixty-seven portraits, five maps, engraved head-pieces, tail-pieces, and initials; title pages in red and black. Bound in pig skin with blind stamped decoration centered on each board, eight raised spine bands with holograph ink titles in compartments. Boards rubbed and soiled, corners bumped, pencil markings and scratches to covers, volume two with minor loss at foot of spine, some cracked joints; tears to endpapers along turn-ins, volume four with pencil marks and line drawings on front free endpaper, title page and facing page; pages with light edge wear and few small chips, some creasing, occasional foxing, soiling, and browning; otherwise in very good condition.
