[Lacks blanks] [25], 1037, [1]; 820, [2]p. Full red morocco, elaborate gilt ruling and panelling, corners a bit worn, hinges creased. Binding coming loose from spine of vol.I. Banded spines with elegant gilt stamp decoration and letters in gilt. All edges gilt, green grosgrain endpapers, and green silk ribbon place markers. Light browning and foxing. Bookplate of Adolph Lewisohn on verso of front free endpaper of vol.I, letter (old hand) regarding obituary of Louis de Boucherat, chancellor of France, loose between front free endpaper and first blank of vol.II.
