With Large Engraved Plates of the Marriage
    Celebrations of Madame Louise-Elizabeth
of France and Dom Philippe of Spain

[Engraved plates]. Description des Festes Données par la Ville De Paris, À l'Occasion du Mariage de Madame Louise-Elisabeth De France, & de Dom Philippe, Infant & Grand Amiral d'Espagne. Paris: P. G. Le Mercier, 1740. First edition. Elephant folio. Approximately 24.75 x 18.5 inches. 22 pages, including title-page and page [2] with engraved vignettes. With eleven (of thirteen) large engraved plates, with all double-page plates (eight) present. Bound in modern quarter burgundy cloth over marbled boards (paper on marbled boards appears to be earlier). Every text leaf and plate are repaired or restored, some significantly. Leaves thumbsoiled, dampstained, or worn. A fair copy of this beautiful souvenir book depicting the elaborate celebration of a royal wedding in mid-eighteenth-century France. The celebration took place on the Seine, as well as a man-made island made especially for the occasion. One of the plates depicts the huge fireworks display shown to guests.

The pre and post sales experience was wonderful and flawless. Heritage has the best in-house operation I have ever seen and their people are not only professional but fun to work with, especially Steve C.

As for Heritage's online system… Yes the interface is more complex than what we are used to with SAN but what is behind that interface is amazing for sellers and buyers alike. It is real time and for a real serious auction buyer there is nothing better in the auction industry, bar none.
