Forty-eight textual and forty-eight illustrated plates affixed to heavy gray-green paper. Publisher's quarter-vellum over olive paper-covered boards; spine lettered and elaborately stamped in gilt, front board lettered in gilt. Spine very gently leaning; boards lightly rubbed, with a few surface scratches, series of tiny divots to the upper corner of the front board; backstrip lightly soiled; spine ends pushed. Endpapers faintly discolored; a couple plate corners unglued. Near fine. From a Private Collection in St. Charles, IL.
