[6],166,3-24pp. Complete. Modern 1/2 morocco over marbled boards, title on red morocco label, edges speckled red; bookplate of C. W. Turner Collection of the Univ. of Keele, early ownership of John Studholme 1789 and Charles Eades, 1716 on endpapers; 18th c. ms. index of three pages added at the front, old notes on endsheets; corner repair to first two leaves, some old stains in margin of t.p. and following 2 leaves, minor stains but an overall good copy. 4 plates, many text cuts and diagrams.The reported imprint in Wing and ESTC is "Thomas Braddyll et al." Ours is the same collation and is presumably just a variant imprint. This reissue removed Y4 ads and 2A1the separate title for the supplement (as listed in ESTC).

    More Information: Leybourn (1626-1700?) teacher of mathematics and prolific author of scientific and practical works on measuring and related practical science. "Leybourn's works all grew out of his teaching, and were deservedly popular. They are clear and attractive in style, and are the work of a man of considerable ingenuity and uncommon industry." DNB. He was one of the surveyors immediately after the Great Fire. He was a good friend of several astrologers: Vincent Wing, John Booker and John Gadbury who described him as 'a facetious, pleasant, and cheerful disposition.' This is an unrecorded variant imprint. but is related to: ESTC r218119. Wing L1902 (includes Wing L1934A 'Supplement')
