Octavo. [284], 2, blank] pages. With signed limitation page inserted at front. Publisher's green cloth backstrip over printed floral boards, printed paper label on spine. Housed in original plain cardboard slipcase with printed paper label. Cloth spine sunned; spine and label somewhat soiled; minor occasional thumbsoiling in text; text very slightly skewed; many pages unopened. Slipcase quite worn and soiled; slipcase chipped with some splitting. Overall, a good copy. [And:] Shadows on the Rock: One of 199 copies printed on Japan Vellum and signed by Cather. Octavo. [vi], [282] pages. With signed limitation page inserted at front. Publisher's full red vellum, boards and spine stamped and lettered in gilt. In original dust jacket and slipcase. Some rubbing to edge of binding; some mottling to binding; boards bowed outward. Dust jacket with folding yapp edges over binding; jacket spine toned, jacket edgeworn with several chips and tears at edges; some thumbsoiling. Slipcase with edgewear and soiling; a few joints with some splitting. Overall, a very good copy. Crane A14, A17. From the James C. Seacrest Collection.
