    Wedel (1645-1721) physician, professor of medicine at Jena, "He was distinguished for his comprehensive learning, success as a practitioner, unceasing labour as professor and author, for his great modesty, recitude, and beneficence to the poor... he was a strong supporter of the iatro-chemical principles of De la Boe Sylvius.
