    Inscribed by Maugham on the front free endpaper, "For / Lawrence E. Richie / W. Somerset Maugham / March 15, 1943 / at Yemassee. S. C." Octavo. 302 pages.

     

    Publisher's blue cloth with gold stamping. Cloth is rubbed and lightly edgeworn. Dust jacket is lightly chipped and edgeworn, with fading to the green portion of the spine. Very good.

     

    Contains Maugham's most famous short story, Rain. This story introduced the Sadie Thompson character and was adapted for the stage and screen. Not in Stott.
