Description

    W. Somerset Maugham. The Razor's Edge. Garden City: Doubleday, Doran & Co., 1944. First trade edition. Publisher's black cloth. Previous owner's name and a short original verse written in ink. Dust jacket. A previous owner has touched up the jacket with ink in a few spots. The ink is visible on the reverse, in a few small areas along the front flap, the front joint, the spine ends, and along a crease and two short closed tears at the top edge of the front panel. The touch-ups are almost invisible on the outside of the jacket. Very good. Stott A63b.

More Information: Octavo. 343 pages. Publisher's smooth black cloth with gilt stamping. Previous owner's inked name, date, and ink blotch on front free endpaper. Short verse/haiku in ink with same ownership name written under it on the penultimate blank leaf. Very good, in dust jacket. Stott A63b. From the Collection of Norman F. Moore.

We had a wonderful time in New York during the October 2013 Historical Manuscripts auction that featured my mother’s papers collected during her tenure as Martin Luther King, Jr.’s secretary. In fact, the entire experience from beginning to end has been a pleasure.
