Publisher's full blue cloth; spine and front lettered in gilt and black; rear with publisher's device stamped in black. Original dust jacket. All edges trimmed. Light wear at spine ends and along joints; corners slightly bumped; minor rubbing to boards with one or two tiny spots of soiling at rear. Moderate age toning to edges of text block with some speckling, most pronounced at top edge; a bit of scuffing at fore-edge. Normal yellowing throughout interior; pastedowns with mild wrinkles running width at middle, likely as issued. Minimal edge wear at spine and flap fold ends, flap edges of jacket; general light toning; very mild rubbing to exposed panels; some speckles of foxing at rear flap. A bit of rubbing and toning at verso of jacket. Near fine. Basis for the 1936 Alfred Hitchcock film Secret Agent, starring Madeleine Carroll, Peter Lorre, John Gieglud and Robert Young.
