Octavo. 390 pages with fourteen inserted plates, including frontispiece. Loose folding blueprint map. Original green cloth, stamped in gilt, beveled edges. Modest rubbing to extremities, boards showing at corners, faint foxing on edges. Decorative floral endpapers, front and rear hinges starting. Light toning on page edges, occasional thumbsoiling on outer margins with dark thumbprint on lower corner of p. 54. Minor offsetting on gutter margins of pp. 116-117. Over-opened at p. 168 and facing plate. A nice, very good, copy. Howes J167.
