    William Snelgrave. A New Account of Some Parts of Guinea, and the Slave Trade. London: Printed for James, John, and Paul Knapton, 1734. First edition. Octavo (7.5 x 4.625 inches; 190 x 115 mm.). [24], 288 pages. Engraved folding map frontispiece. Contemporary calf; boards ruled in gilt; spine stamped in gilt with five raised bands and red leather spine label; fillet decoration stamped in blind. All edges trimmed and sprinkled red. Rebacked in later beige calf; edge wear with some loss to fillet decoration; corners bumped and rounded. Top edge of text block darkened. Repairs visible at hinges with some toning to pastedowns from binding. Occasional marginal thumbsoiling and pencil corrections to errors in printed pagination. Map folded improperly at some point, resulting in extra creases; slight weakening at original folds, one with short archival repair at verso. Very slight rippling to text block. Overall very good with a clean, bright interior. Engraved book-label of Wolfgang A. Herz affixed to front pastedown. ESTC T136167.
