Volume I: 27 black and white plates, 2 folding maps. Volume II: 19 black and white plates, 1 folding plate. Contemporary full mottled leather. Pencil ownership signatures on title pages. Rubbing, scuffing, and wear to extremities, affecting leather with some loss. Spine ends and corners bumped and showing. Head and tail-pieces affecting on spines. Textblocks cockled from damp. Toning on edges and pages. Hinges starting. Dampstaining and scattered foxing throughout. Creasing on beginning pages, with a tear starting on ffep of Volume II. Volume I has large closed tear on pp. 51-52, affecting text and repaired on fore-edge of p. 52. lacking pp. 183-184; large open tear on p. 205 starting at gutter margin, affecting text. Overall, good.
