    Nathaniel Portlock. A Voyage Round the World; But More Particularly to the North-West Coast of America: Performed in 1785, 1786, 1787, and 1788, in The King George and Queen Charlotte, Captains Portlock and Dixon. Embellished with Twenty Copper-Plates. London: Printed for John Stockdale and George Goulding, 1789. xii, 384, xl appendix pages. Frontispiece portrait of the author, folding map, thirteen engraved plates sketches, views and plans (five folded); and five hand-colored plates. Only two plates with laid in tissue guards. Armorial bookplate of "Ormathwaite" on front pastedown. Full calf, rebacked with original spine laid on top, thin gilt chain-link patterned borders on boards, five raised spine bands with gilt lettered leather title label and gilt designs in compartments, gilt designs on board edges. Boards rubbed, scuffed, and chipped, spine leather cracked and flaking, small losses at foot and joints, joints cracking; front hinge cracked, holograph pencil bookseller's annotation on endpapers, printing irregularity on leaf R2, minor paper loss in upper margin of leaf Ss3 (not affecting text), frequent small and unobtrusive crayon line marks in the margins, few holograph notations, image offset from maps and plates, varying degrees of foxing and browning (heavier on plates and their adjacent pages), spots on gathering 3B, light edge and fold wear, some creases and corner bends, few small tears, occasional minor soiling or stains; else in very good condition.
