    More Information:

Thomas Harmer (1714-88), a minister of the independent church at Wattisfield, Suffolk, began to preach before he reached his majority.  He was known for his liberal temperament, evangelical enterprise, and diligent research, all of which made him very influential among the dissenting churches of the eastern counties.  The present work, first published in 1764, provides valuable illustrations of scripture found in eastern customs, a method unique in Harmer's day.
