    Two volumes in one quarto. Leather boards with gilt ruled borders. Rebacked with new spine, five raised bands, gilt stamped leather label and rules in compartments, marbled endpapers. Armorial bookplate of George Purling on front pastedown. Lacks charts and plates. Boards worn. Very good.

    cxxviii, 361, [3, advertisement]; xi, 503, 105 pages. Boards worn, surface chipped, scratched and soiled, gilt rules worn and faintly visible; leather bleedthrough and offset around borders of endpapers from turn-ins, holograph pencil bookseller's notes on verso of front free endpaper, pencil check marks and page numbers on the list of the plates, lacks plates, some image offset on the text pages from where the plates once were, reading ribbon remnants and their offset stains, occasional smudges and soiling, some tears in margins, horizontal tear across text of leaf 3N2, pages toned and browned. Pages heavily browned in second volume from page 393 to page 503 and the half title of its second part, several of these pages have been mounted.  Otherwise in very good condition.
