    Description

[Persia, Turkey and Armenia]. Jean Baptiste Tavernier. Les Six Voyages ... en Turquie, en Perse, et aux Indes... The Hague, 1718. Later edition. From the collection of a gentleman of New York.

    More Information:

Twelvemo. [xx], 782, [10, Table] pages. With frontispiece, one fold-out map, nine plates (eight of which are double-page), and second title-page inserted thoughout.  This edition was bound with various numbers of  plates, although this copy seems to have fewer than usual. Contemporary full calf, spine elaborately tooled in gilt in compartments, four raised bands, burgundy gilt morocco lettering label, gilt board edges, marbled endleaves. Bookplate on front pastedown, and neat ownership signature on title-page. Front joint cracking, first gutter cracking, overopened in places, one leaf with minor restoration to bottom. Still, good.

    Blackmer 1631.

This was my first time dealing with an auction house, and I am 100% completely impressed with Heritage. There is not an aspect of this process that I have a critique for.
