    [François Le Vaillant]. New Travels into the Interior Parts of Africa. By the Way of the Cape of Good Hope, in the Years 1832, 84 and 85. Translated from the French of Le Vaillant. London: Printed for G. G. and J. Robinson, 1796. First edition in English. Three volumes. Octavo. [iii]-l, [2], 288; [2], 383, [1]; [2], 488 pages. Engraved folding map and twenty-two additional inserted plates, six of which are folding. Full mottled calf; spine decorated in gilt with black morocco spine labels; gilt fillet decorations. All edges trimmed and sprinkled blue. Wear to edges and joints of binding; slight bumping to corners; a fair amount of chipping, creasing to backstrips and spine labels. Normal toning to edges of text blocks; top edges dust soiled. Faint, scattered foxing to plates; mended tear at inner edge of folding map. Very good. Engraved book-label with sailing ship and initals "W. A. H." affixed to front pastedowns. Brunet III, 1034 (original French edition).
