Thomas Wolfe. From Death to Morning. New York: 1953. First edition, association copy, inscribed.

    More Information:

Thomas Wolfe. From Death to Morning. New York: Charles Scribner's, 1953. First edition. Association copy. Inscribed by Wolfe to screenwriter Jules Furthman on the front free endpaper: "To/Jules Furthman/Sincerely/Thomas Wolfe/Nov 16, 1935". Inscribed two days after publication. Octavo. [xiv], 304, [2, blank] pages. Publisher's full brown cloth, front board and spine stamped in gilt. Original dust jacket. Cloth spine a bit rubbed; some sunning to edges; some soiling to boards; some offsetting to front free endpaper (touching a bit of the inscription). Bookplate of George Staehle on front pastedown. Dust jacket spine a bit toned; jacket edgeworn, with some chipping and several tears, some soiling to jacket. Overall, a very good copy with a good association. Jules Furthman was a prolific screenwriter, with one of his last screenplays being the John Wayne film, Rio Bravo. From the James C. Seacrest Collection.
