hand-colored plates. Errata slip. Twentieth-century half brown
levant morocco over brown cloth boards, with portion of
contemporary leather spine affixed to spine, and with contemporary
(original?) cloth portion from front board affixed to front board,
later endleaves. Front joint cracked, binding worn, hinges
reinforced, pages 5/6 and 7/8 and one plate (Opothle Yoholo)
reinforced with brown paper tape at edges, page 75 with large tape
repairs, pages 12, 13, 15, and 19 with small tape repairs or
reinforcements, some plates with apparent offset from leaves or
other small plants on blank rectos, some toning, offset to plates,
some foxing in text. Good. Despite these flaws, this is still a
portion of the first edition of "The grandest color plate book
issued in the United States up the time of its publication"
