    More Information:

Roosevelt inscribes this collection of his speeches to his good friend William B. Howland. Howland was a New York editor, publisher (including this volume), and member of the American Peace Centenary Committee. This compilation of Roosevelt's speeches touch on still-current issues such as natural resources, conservation, labor and capital, the press, the law and corruption. Signed copies of this work are rare; inscribed copies with important association exceedingly scarce.

We had a wonderful time in New York during the October 2013 Historical Manuscripts auction that featured my mother’s papers collected during her tenure as Martin Luther King, Jr.’s secretary. In fact, the entire experience from beginning to end has been a pleasure.
