    Description

Theodore Roosevelt. African Game Trails. An Account of the African Wanderings of an American Hunter-Naturalist. New York: Charles Scribner's Sons, 1910. First edition, limited to 500 sets (of which this is number 171), signed by Roosevelt on the limitation page in the first volume. Two large octavo volumes. xvi, [2], 268; viii, [2], 269-529 pages. With fifty illustrated or photographic plates inserted. Publisher's brown half pigskin over beige paper boards. Both volumes rebacked, preserving the original spines. Spines toned (spine of volume II quite damaged), boards rubbed and somewhat worn, corners bumped, with color correction. Hinges starting. Endleaves foxed with some offsetting. Text with some occasional foxing. Previous owner's gift inscription on first blank of volume I. Several pages roughly opened, with some marginal chipping or short tears. Page 497 in volume II has a two-inch marginal tear. Still, a good set.
