Inscribed by Anthony on the front free-endpaper: "Mrs. Emily B. Meredith / Fort Lupton - Colorado - / Please accept this huge / volume in recognition of the / valuable services you rendered to / Mrs. Harper - in the preparation / of the Colorado Chapter - and believe / me ever yours for the freedom / of women - as they are in your state - / Susan B. Anthony / 17 - Madison street / Rochester - N. Y. / 1820 - Feb. 15 - 1902." Thick octavo. [2, blank], lii, 1144, [2, blank] pages. With eleven plates inserted throughout. Publisher's burgundy cloth, boards ruled in thick blind, spine ruled and lettered in gilt. Spine a bit sunned; some mild edgewear to spine and boards; front joint starting; front upper corner bumped; front hinge barely starting; small ink spot to first few leaves at fore-edge; text a bit toned; upper corners of last third of text pages creased at upper corner; light occasional soiling to edge of text block.
