With a warm personal inscription signed by King to his close friend, Flip Thompson, and his second wife, reading: "For Flip and Sharon with / all the best - / Steve / March 5, 1978" on the front free endpaper. Octavo. xxiv, 336 pages. Publisher's black cloth over red paper boards with gilt spine titles. Original dust jacket. Minor wear to the boards, with some rubbing of the spine gilt. Bumped corners. Light rubbing to dust jacket, with a few tiny chips and short, closed tears to the jacket edges. A bright copy in very good condition. Accompanied by a photocopy of a 1987 letter from bookseller David John Turner of Carlson & Turner Antiquarian Books in Portland Maine, who purchased this book, along with the four other Stephen King books inscribed to Flip in this auction, directly from Thompson's second wife, Sharon.
