Harrison presented this copy to Lawrence Morris, a fellow member of the New York Zoological Society. Harrison met Finaughty's son on safari in Rhodesia in 1908, where they became friends and hunted together. When Harrison met the author, the elder Finaughty gave Harrison a set of the Rhodesian journal that had collected his recollections. The current book is the result. This book collects fascinating accounts of Finaughty's encounters with elephants, buffalo, lion, and other big game. "One of the rarest of all African big game hunting titles," Czech pp. 56-57.
