Sinclair Lewis. Arrowsmith. New York: Harcourt, Brace and Company, [1925]. First edition, limited to 500 copies, of which this is number seventy-three, and signed by the author; additionally inscribed on the front free endpaper: "To Robert Lang / Sinclair Lewis;" Lang was Lewis's close friend and physician. Octavo. [2, blank], [iv], 448, [2, blank] pages. Publisher's cream buckram backstrip over blue paper boards, printed paper label on spine, in original slipcase. Spine a bit toned and thumbsoiled, label toned and foxed, minor rubbing to binding, a few gutters overopened, slipcase bumped and somewhat worn with some apparent repairs and color correction. Spare spine label affixed to rear blank, as issued. Overall, a near fine copy, with an excellent association.
