William S. Burroughs. Die wilden Boys/Port of Saints. Frankfurt: Zweitausendeins, 1980. First German edition. Inscribed by Burroughs "For Andrew" on the title page. Also inscribed by artist S. Clay Wilson for Jerry Weist, and with an original ink sketch of a "Wild Boy." Also signed by Sabeth Thomas, girlfriend of Wilson and likely designer of the logo on rear cover. Laid in is a postcard from Wilson to Weist discussing Weist doing a Wilson anthology. Octavo. 378 pages. Translated by Carl Weissner. Illustrations by S. Clay Wilson. Text in German. Flexible faux reptile skin-covered paper boards. Some rubbing to extremities. A better than very good copy in publisher's slipcase. S. Clay Wilson was one of the central figures in the underground comix scene, and his comics have been cited as a major influence by R. Crumb. From the Jerry Weist Collection.
