    William Henry Harrison Signed Presentation Copy of A Historical Narrative of the Civil and Military Service of Major-General William H. Harrison, and a Vindication of his Character and Conduct... By Moses Dawson. Cincinnati: Printed by M. Dawson, at the Advertiser Office. 1824. 8vo. 464 pages, with an appendix [8 pages] and an errata sheet bound at end. Signed on the dedicatory page, "To Wm L Stone Esq. with the respects of W. H. Harrison."

    Extensive restoration is evident, including complete re-binding. The spine has been re-backed, and corners rebuilt. Interior pages have toning and foxing throughout, but are otherwise clean. the book is housed in a custom quarter morocco slip case with raised bands and gilt title on the spine.

    William Leete Stone (1792-1844) was a noted author and abolitionist. He was a proponent of freedom of the press, and accompanied the Marquis de Lafayette on his tour of America in 1825. President Harrison appointed him Minister to the Hague, but he was later recalled by President Tyler after Harrison's death.
