Tom Lea. Randado. El Paso: Carl Hertzog, 1941. First edition limited to 100 hand-numbered and signed copies, of which only 25 were offered for sale to the public. Signed by Tom Lea on the colophon page. 4to. 14 unnumbered pages. With illustrations by Lea throughout text. Original publisher's simulated leather grain paper over boards and green cloth spine with a Lea vignette mounted to the front board. Titles printed in black on the spine and in silver on the front board. With modest soiling to the spine and light edge wear, otherwise a very good copy.

Lea was inspired to write and illustrate this poetic tribute to the old ranch at Randado in Texas' Jim Hogg County while on a trip with J. Frank Dobie in preparation for illustrating Dobie's The Longhorns. Randado was originally printed and issued with heavy brown paper covers but collectors demanded a more permanent binding resulting in several different binding configurations.
