    More Information:

Sister Mary Agatha's Texas Prose Writing remains a readable and useful survey of Texas literature. It served as one of the bibliographic sources used by John Jenkins while researching and writing his Basic Texas Books (B6, in the appendix: "A Checklist of Bibliographies Relating to Texas").

Romance and Tragedy of Texas History contains 29 vignettes of Texas history, such as "Fredonia Republic," "Mier Expedition," "Salt Lake War," "Trial and Conviction of Santanta and Big Tree," etc. Sister Agatha, in her Texas Prose Writing, admiringly describes Dixon as "indefatigable in searching out old records and family traditions."
