    First edition, later issue (broken type on both the page 54 folio and "may" at the bottom of page 387). Presentation copy from Sinclair Lewis to his wife, Grace Hegger, inscribed on the front free endpaper: "To my wife, - who has / so often had our own / little Main Street in Putnam / in search of "goodies" for / her Man.- / Xmas, 1920. / and from / Sinclair Lewis." Octavo. 451 pages.

    Publisher's blue cloth with orange and blue titles. Cloth is lightly rubbed with mild sunning to the backstrip. One-half-inch spot of soiling on front board. Spine is faintly darkened. Minor toning to endpapers and page edges. A very good copy.
